Bring On IU: Atlanta

Wednesday, January 21, 2026
6–9 p.m. EST

Ventanas
275 Baker Street
Atlanta, GA 30313

Meet us in Atlanta

About the event

Bring On IU: Atlanta is an exclusive opportunity to attend a Q&A with film producer Michael Uslan, BA’73, MS’76, and JD’76. Like many of the comic book heroes he reveres, Uslan has a life-altering origin story. In the early 1970s, before he became the executive producer of the modern Batman films, Uslan made headlines as the first comic book folklore instructor with his IU class, The Comic Book in Society. The class led to an internship at DC Comics, and the rest, as they say, is history!

About the speaker

Uslan is a producer, attorney, and author whose impressive credits include nearly 100 TV shows and films, including Batman (1989), The Dark Knight (2008), and Joker: Folie à Deux (2024). Uslan’s memoir, The Boy Who Loved Batman (2019), chronicles his journey from a Batman-loving kid to an executive producer.

About the event

Network and nosh, then listen to luminary Alzheimer’s disease researcher Bruce Lamb, PhD, unpack the groundbreaking, lifesaving work he and his team are doing in the field of neuroscience. Come ready to be inspired.

About the speaker

You might be surprised to learn that, despite being a trailblazing researcher in Alzheimer’s disease and the executive director of the Stark Neurosciences Research Institute at IU School of Medicine, Lamb has no formal training in neuroscience. It wasn’t until he worked under John D. Gearhart, PhD, a pioneer in stem cell research, that he became fascinated with finding a cure for the debilitating disease. Today at Stark, Lamb oversees a team of more than 100 faculty investigators working in nine research interest groups ranging from neurodegenerative disorders to addiction to spinal cord and brain injuries.
